Frequently asked questions

Why choose seasonal fruit and vegetables?

They cost less, taste better and on average have a better nutritional profile, because they are harvested ripe instead of weeks early. And the supply chain is shorter: less transport and less storage.

Which fruit fits a ketogenic diet?

Low-sugar fruit: berries (raspberries, blackberries, strawberries) in moderate portions, avocado, lemon and lime, coconut. Bananas, grapes, figs and persimmons are among the most sugary and should be strongly limited.

Do vegetables contain carbs?

Yes, but in very different amounts. Practical keto rule: green light for vegetables that grow above ground (leafy greens, courgettes, broccoli, cauliflower), caution with those below ground (potatoes, carrots, beets), which are richer in starches.

Are legumes keto?

On strict keto usually not: chickpeas, beans and lentils have 30-40 g of net carbs per 100 g dry. Small portions can fit more flexible low-carb approaches.
