Psychology of change

The G.R.I.N. method

Changing what you eat isn't just about the food on your plate — it's also about habits and mindset. Dr Jen Unwin (clinical psychologist) devised the G.R.I.N. method, a simple and positive approach to changing behaviour and beating sugar addiction.

GGoals

Picture what a better future would look like. Set clear, positive goals: not "stop doing…", but "I want to feel…".

RResources

Recognise the strengths, experiences and support you already have: what's helped you before? Who or what can you rely on?

IIncrements

Change happens one step at a time. What's the next small, realistic step you could take starting tomorrow?

NNoticing

Notice and celebrate what's already working and every small improvement: it reinforces motivation and confidence.
